The Sunnie Coast Regionals are over for another year with two squad members heading off to States and another being a reserve.
Firstly, well done Leah for last week placing 4th in the 800m at the primary school regionals. A new pb of 2:41 and reservist to compete a States is an excellent effort, particularly as only 2 seconds seperated 1st and 4th.
Today at the Secondary School Regionals James had an excellent day of competition placing 3rd in the 800, 400 and 1500 with each of them being pb’s. James also qualified for States in the 800m.
Sarah also competed three times today starting with the 800m where a pb qualifier was achieved for States. This was followed by the triple jump where an enthusiastic group of supporters provided encouragement for her first attempt at this event for Regionals. Finally Sarah placed 4th in the 1500m running an excellent race in windy conditions. It was also a State qualifying time.
See you all at Redcliffe for tomorrow’s session commencing at 6:30pm.

At the recent Lakes College Fun Run the G family turned in some pretty decent performances. Firstly, young Leah won the 2km girls event in 9:30 followed by Thomas placing 7th in the boys event in 9:28. Brennan then went on to place 7th in the 6k boys event in a time of 26:34. Well done to each of you. It looks like the recent training is starting to pay off.
